Lev Serif is a slab serif typeface. Designed by Léon Hulst and released by TypeFaith Fonts, a Dutch foundry. The rectangular serifs with straight-angled shoulders and contrasting links to the curves and loops give this font its distinctive character. Lev Serif comes in a large family: many weights, Light, Regular, Bold, Extra Bold and Black.
Here are what makes Lev Serif stand out:
Rectangular / block-like serifs — very noticeable, giving it a strong, stable feel.
Contrast between curves and angles — the links (e.g. in “h”, “n” etc.) and shoulders have straight or angled segments contrasting with curved strokes.
Strong weight options — some very heavy styles (Black, Bold, etc.), also lighter ones. Useful for display work, headlines, signage.
Decorative / textured variants — distress, grunge, hand-drawn etc. These add character, more artistic or rustic feel.
